Chamber supports Hilliard Police K-9 Unit Although the doggie treat the Hilliard Area Chamber of Commerce has purchased for Hilliard’s newest police K9 Kane is not one he would like to eat, it will offer him lifesaving protection. The Hilliard Chamber has donated a bulletproof ballistic vest for K9 Kane and is now protecting the K-9 that protects our businesses and community on 3rd shift. K9 Kane is a Belgian Malinois who began his career in patrol at Hilliard with his handler Officer Tony LaRosa only four months ago. Officer LaRosa is excited to have his newest partner outfitted with lifesaving armor similar to his own. On behalf of the Hilliard Chamber, President/CEO Libby Gierach commented, “By protecting the newest K9 of the HPD with the purchase of his vest, we feel it is a worthy investment to our community.” What a treat for Kane to pose in his new bulletproof vest with Chamber President/CEO President Libby Gierach, Chamber Board Chair Jill Gerschutz, Police Chief J. Douglas Francis, Deputy Chief Robert Fisher, and Officer Tony LaRosa. Police Chief J. Douglas Francis stated, “Our agency feels a magnitude of appreciation to be partnered with such a great organization as the Hilliard Chamber.”
