Hilliard City schools superintendent to speak at Feb. 21 luncheon We are very excited to have Dr. John Marschhausen, Superintendent of Hilliard City Schools, speak at our February 21 luncheon. John is completing his seventh month as superintendent. The Hilliard Chamber has always been involved with workforce development and how prepared our students in high school are to either move to the world of work or continue their education at a higher level. John’s topic will be “Changing Landscape of Education”. Our luncheons are open to the pub-
lic. As a member of our community, we know that it is important to you to come and meet the new leader of the Hilliard Schools and hear the vision and direction to educate our prospective workforce. The cost is $18 for members and $21 for potential members and guests.

The 2014 Annual Meeting will again be a luncheon meeting to be held at the Heritage Golf Club on Friday, March 21, 2014, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The annual Chamber report in addition to Chamber awards will be presented. Mark your calendar and plan to attend this important meeting. There are three categories for chamber awards: Emerging Business, Established Business, and Most Involved Volunteer. Please feel free to nominate a deserving chamber member for any of these awards. The deadline to receive the nominations is Friday, Feb. 14. CHAMBER PRIZE PATROL: We certainly surprised Larry Powell and his staff at Powell Prints, 3991 Main Street, as members of the Membership Committee came in with lots of prizes to announce that they were our January FABULOUS chamber member! Who will be the next random chamber member to be selected?
Four Hilliard Area Chamber of Commerce members are joining forces with other wedding and event professionals for a Brides Seminar and Luncheon on Sunday, Feb. 23 for an afternoon at Heritage Golf Club. Party Planners Plus, How Inviting, LLC, An Occasional Florist and Heritage Golf Club are speaking on tips of the trade and wedding planning. Wedding professionals presenting will represent the whole range of wedding planning. Nora McCoy of Party Planners Plus is the organizer of the event, which is being put on for the fifth year. Nora’s sole purpose is to educate, she says “It is not a moneymaker and costs me in time and money. It is an awesome and fun event: lunch, cake, fashion show, planning binder, planning tips, money savers and lots of prizes.
