“I appreciate all the people here; I love the friends I’ve made,” says Lillian Mofatt, long time Senior Center attendee.
The Columbia County Senior Center provides various activities for residents who are 60+, including a favorite among the group, BINGO! Joyce Dyson says her favorite thing to do at the center is play BINGO! She was introduced to the Senior Center during COVID, when she began playing online BINGO with the group. When the center reopened, she began attending almost daily. “I love coming out and seeing everyone,” says Ms. Dyson.
Free transportation is offered from seniors’ homes to the center, and free lunches are served daily. Many attendees are fond of the ceramics class offered several times a week at the center. Ms. Lillian says she is currently working on painting trees in the ceramics class. Not the all of the activities take place at the center, as several outings are offered each month.
Mr. Bill Rawins says “just about everyone here is a good friend of mine,” and that is truly the sentiment of the Columbia County Senior Center. To learn more, visit https://www.columbiacountyga.gov/community/senior-center
