Dominik Arnold took over as CEO of the COLTENE Group at the start of 2024, bringing with him extensive leadership experience from the medical technology and life sciences industries. Under his leadership, the COLTENE Group continues to distinguish itself with its innovative business approach, offering dental professionals streamlined workflows and enhanced patient outcomes. In this interview, he shares insights into his strategic vision and the COLTENE Group’s commitment to sustainable practices. He also discusses the latest innovations the company presented at the 2025 International Dental Show in Cologne in Germany.
Mr Arnold, what are your key priorities for the COLTENE Group in your first year, and how do you see the company evolving under your leadership?
After taking the helm at the COLTENE Group, my priority was to gain a thorough understanding of the organisation. We formed a cross-functional team from all our operating companies to develop a comprehensive strategy centred on our new mission: preserving and enhancing natural teeth. This unified patient- and dentist-centric approach aligns our teams and sharpens our focus on delivering innovative, high-impact solutions for dental professionals. Under my leadership, the COLTENE Group will continue to drive excellence, ensuring that we remain at the forefront of dental innovation with practical, customer-focused, results-driven advancements.
The COLTENE Group has positioned itself as a leader in comprehensive dental solutions, particularly with its E2R (endodontics to restoration) concept. How does this approach differentiate the COLTENE Group from its competitors, and what benefits does it offer dental professionals in terms of efficiency and patient care?

Most importantly, our approach supports the preservation of natural teeth, ultimately enhancing patient care and long-term oral health.
At the International Dental Show 2025, the COLTENE Group introduced several innovative products across the endodontics, restorative dentistry and infection control segments. In your opinion, which of these solutions will have the biggest impact on clinical workflows, and how do they align with current trends in dentistry?
Every solution we introduce is designed to enhance clinical efficiency and improve treatment outcomes.

To me, the most important aspect of sustainability is preserving natural teeth. By focusing on saving teeth rather than removing them, we support both long-term oral health and environmental responsibility. This approach fosters a lasting connection between patients and dentists, encouraging treatments that prioritise preservation and longevity over extraction.
