1 ANSWER FROM STEFAN: STEP BY STEP Every single one of these is an important question – not only for you, but also for our company, Colruyt Group. And we want to give clear answers to all of them. We’ve been doing that for many years, we’re doing it today, and we will continue to do it in the future. Together, we create sustainable added value through value-driven craftsmanship in retail. We’ve been fulfilling this mission for years. We invest in responsible products, in the well-being of our customers and employees and in our infrastructure, such as our low-energy stores. We won't solve everything at once, but we are making progress every day. That optimism is part of our DNA. I believe that with the right choices and efforts today, we can truly contribute to a better future for the generations to come. We've already come a long way, and as CEO I'm very proud of that. But working on the future never stops. And, above all, we have to do it together – with our employees, our partners, and our customers. All our small steps combined make a big difference. That is our approach: together, step by step. It is important that everyone understands that what they do really matters. Every step counts, no matter how big or small. That is why we invite everyone to join us, knowing that your everyday choices really can make a difference for oneself, society and the planet. We want to inspire you with our answers to those 10 big questions, covering three topics: environmentally conscious, health, and caring for one another. But first, we'll give you an insight into how we tackle this: purposefully and step by step. Thank you to everyone who is contributing today to the generation of tomorrow. Happy reading! For more than 50 years now, sustainability has been at the heart of how we do business at Colruyt Group. What we do today shapes tomorrow. As a family business, we make choices with a focus on the long term and consider what we will leave to future generations. That’s why we do business sustainably – to make conscious consumption easier. In this, we are unique as a company. Our strength lies in this diversity of brands and in the many ways we answer to our customers' needs. The major role we play in the daily lives of our employees, partners and customers gives us the opportunity to accomplish a great deal. That's why we seize those opportunities: from the products in our stores to the buildings themselves, from employee to customer, from farm to plate. And we’re doing it all step by step.

HOW ARE YOU MAKING IT EASIER TO EAT A MORE PLANT-BASED FOOD? Eating plant-based food more often is a smart move. An occasional meal without meat or fish provides variety in your diet and also makes a difference to your environment and the climate. To make that choice easier, we launched a new range this year: Boni Plan’t. The products are tasty, affordable and come in a recognisable packaging. We offer a convenient plant-based alternative for every meal, making plant-based eating truly easy and delicious.

6

STEP BY STEP

More and more of our customers say that they want to eat less meat and fish in the future. It’s a logical choice – those products have a major impact on the climate. Producing plant-based food usually results in the emission of less greenhouse gases and requires less water and agricultural land. You’re also then more likely to choose fibre-rich foods such as vegetables, fruit, nuts and seeds.

Find out how easy it is to switch and get inspired by our recipes.

Switching to plant-based proteins together

We share the principles of the Green Deal Protein Shift: eating more plant-based doesn’t have to be all or nothing. Every little helps. For example, you could try replacing your main meal with a plant-based option one day a week: Monday a schnitzel, Tuesday a buddha bowl. Or vegetable soup for lunch, spaghetti with (plant-based) mince for dinner. It’s up to you to choose what works best for you! Our campaigns, recipes and leaflets show how easy plant-based food can be, making it easier for our employees and customers to just give it a try. The chart shows how Bio-Planet customers took a step in the right direction this year by switching to plant-based food more often.

This buddha bowl is a great example: half of the protein comes from the egg; the other half is plant-based.

Tasty, recognisable and affordable? That’s Boni Plan’t! Target 50%

This year, we launched Boni’s third sub-brand. In addition to Boni Eco and Boni Bio, you’ll now also find Boni Plan’t on the shelves of our food stores. The aim is to make the plant-based range more recognisable from now on through new packaging that you can easily spot everywhere in our stores. Boni Plan’t provides a tasty alternative for every meal with a total of around 100 products from plant-based drinks and desserts to vegetarian or vegan meat substitutes and sandwich fillings. We make sure you can find them easily. Why not try them soon!

WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO REDUCE YOUR CO2 EMISSIONS? 86.420 tonnes of CO2 in 2024-2025. We need to do everything we can to reduce our emissions step by step and offset the rest. This is the only way to stay on track towards our two targets for 2030: a 42% reduction in emissions compared to 2021 and net zero emissions as a result of our forest project in the Congo.

Customers helped us plant 136.000 trees in Belgium through our sustainable savings programme in the Xtra app! Now you can support new good causes. Want to step up with us?

Emitting less CO2 ...

... and absorbing more CO2

By 2030, we aim to reduce our own emissions by 42% compared to 2021. To achieve this target of 50.000 tonnes, we’re focusing on the areas that have major effects for our company: transport and heating.

Planting trees is still one of the most efficient ways to mitigate climate change. They capture CO2 and use it as a building block to grow wood, leaves, and roots. In addition, they improve soil and groundwater quality and boost biodiversity.

Our own freight transport will be zero-emission by 2030, as we will only purchase battery-electric or hydrogen-electric vehicles. Our company car fleet is also making progress: more than 80% already runs on greener energy. Last year, we took another decisive step: from now on, only electric cars will be added to the fleet.

By 2028, we want to plant 12 million trees in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. That’s a forest of 10.000 hectares or 2,3 times the size of the Sonian Forest. Today, the forest we’re planting already covers just over 7.000 hectares. From 2029, the forest will be a net absorber of CO2. This means we’ll reach our second goal a year earlier than expected: net zero emissions from our own direct emissions and the energy we purchase. At that point, the greenhouse gases we emit (+) and the CO₂ we remove from the atmosphere (–) will balance out to zero. As the chart shows, each year brings us another step closer to that goal.

Heating our buildings consumes a lot of energy, but we can do things differently. That’s why we recover the heat produced by our cooling installations. Combined with many other measures, such as improved insulation, this has already enabled us to build or renovate 314 low-energy stores, 136 of which are now completely free of fossil fuels.

HOW DO YOU REDUCE WASTE ?

10

STEP BY STEP

Valuable materials are lost every day: in construction, in shops and in product packaging. That’s a concern, especially when you realise how much energy and raw materials they require. That’s why we’re dealing with our materials in an increasingly smart and conscious way. We focus on innovation and circular building, like in our Colruyt store in Temse, an absolute first in Belgium. At the same time, we’re improving our products’ packaging, so that it's recyclable or reusable, leading to less waste being discarded to landfill.

Circular construction of our stores We are fully committed to circular construction, where reusing valuable materials is second nature. Our Colruyt store in Temse is a perfect example. The building was completely dismantled and rebuilt according to the principles of urban mining. Through high‑quality recycling, demolition materials were transformed into a brand‑new, sustainable store. One key innovation was the creation of carbonation concrete blocks from demolished concrete. This type of concrete absorbs CO₂ during production instead of emitting it, making it a carbon‑negative product. Using these blocks in Temse saved 60 tonnes of CO₂. M

ore inf

o

The same process was applied to the façade bricks — no longer traditional clay bricks, but carbonated blocks made from 80% recycled materials. This makes Colruyt Temse the first store in Belgium with a carbon‑negative façade brick — a true first.

Making our packaging smarter gives our products a better Green-score. And buying products with a Green-score of A+ or A earns you points that you can use for good causes, free products or webinars. So, it’s a win-win! Want to step up with us?

Smarter packaging If we take a look inside our stores, we’ve taken further steps this year to make our products’ packaging smarter. To do this, we worked closely with organisations such as Fost Plus, who, like us, want to prevent valuable raw materials from ending up as waste. Two of the results of this made the press last year: • Boni Bio Ghee’s butter packaging is made of a recyclable alternative to traditional paper laminate. This is another first, this time for the European dairy sector. • We’re joining forces with other retailers to introduce reusable mushroom trays. In 2026, we’re going to set up a six-month testing process in Mechelen. We’re already looking forward to seeing the results. As you can see in the chart, these small steps have contributed to a positive effect year after year. We had already made the packaging of our private-label products, such as Boni and Everyday 99,7% recyclable or reusable by 2024. It’ll just take one more small step this year to reach our target of 100%. But even then, our efforts don’t stop there: by 2030, we will make all packaging in our stores recyclable or reusable.

HOW DO YOU AVOID FOOD WASTE? Some 1,3 billion tonnes of food is lost or wasted in the world every year, a third of total food production. We believe this needs to change. Thanks to our efforts over many years, we already manage to sell more than 97% of all the fresh food in our stores today. We’re champions in avoiding food loss. And the only way we’ve been able to achieve this is through smart stock management and good storage, which reduces waste significantly. We took another step forward this year, with additional actions for our customers and social organisations.

12

STEP BY STEP

Longer shelf life and raising awareness To reduce the amount of fruit and vegetables going to waste – both in stores and in consumers’ homes – we use innovative storage technologies and packaging that extend shelf life. Our recent steps: • Thanks to a 100% plant-based protective coating, our avocados dry out and ripen less quickly. This means they keep for up to twice as long. • Boni radishes, carrots, fresh herbs and chicory have got a new breathable packaging. This allows less oxygen in and less moisture out, keeping the vegetables fresh and crisp for longer.

And even if a product is approaching its best-before date, we don’t want it to unnecessarily end up as waste. One way we achieve this is by raising consumers’ awareness with targeted communication campaigns and a clear label. We now put Too Good To Go’s LookSmell-Taste label on our private-label products. It’s a reminder not just to throw away food when its best-before date has passed.

Not sold in time? We give it away! We remove unsold fresh food from the shelves three to four days before the use-by date. This gives our customers enough time to use the fresh products they buy at home. We donate the unsold products to social organisations such as Food banks or Foodsavers, which, thanks to the three- to four-day buffer, have enough time to distribute everything. These organisations can count on our stores for donations but also on our distribution and collection centres: in other words, everywhere in our company. The chart shows how much we donate each year. That’s a step forward year after year.

You can support a Foodsavers project through our sustainable savings programme in the Xtra app. This has already saved food for people in vulnerable situations 19.461 times. Want to step up with us?

• For Boni’s iceberg lettuce, soya bean sprouts, rocket and lettuce hearts, we now provide packaging with an extra weld seam. This smart packaging means you can open only the part you need, and not expose the other part to oxygen.

HOW ARE YOU WORKING ON A MORE BALANCED DIET? Balanced eating: easily said and easily done. Many products — often ones you wouldn’t expect — are packed with sugar, fat or salt, which can affect your health. That’s why we’re constantly improving the nutritional value of our private label products and making it easy to choose the better option at a glance, thanks to the Nutri-Score.

14

STEP BY STEP

Working on the nutritional value of our products ... Together with our suppliers and our own production departments, we have been continuously evaluating the nutritional value of our private-label products since 2014. And where possible, we improve the composition. We keep in mind the reference values of official organisations such as the Superior Health Council. And we also compare the product with similar alternatives from other retailers. We focus on various aspects for each product category: • We reduce sugars and don’t replace them with sweeteners by default. • Where possible, we also reduce fats. Or we choose fats with more unsaturated fatty acids. • We aim for a lower salt content. This can be achieved by using herbs, spices and flavourings without flavour enhancers. • Where possible, we add extra fibre. For example, by increasing the amount of vegetables in our prepared meals.

WHY DO YOU FOCUS ON PREVENTIVE HEALTH? Prevention is better than cure. We like to put that saying into practice because a healthy lifestyle can not only prevent diseases but also improve the quality of life. We’re already helping people to make healthier choices today. And because we like to get specific, we’ll show you how we tackle type 2 diabetes. Taking a preventive approach across all our brands contributes to a healthier society.

16

STEP BY STEP

Raising awareness of type 2 diabetes Type 2 diabetes is one of the fastest growing chronic conditions in Belgium. 1 in 10 adults suffer from it, and a third of them don’t even know. The complications are often risky and the social cost through medical care is huge. The good news is that in many cases, the condition can be prevented or even reversed with the right lifestyle.

That’s why Bio-Planet, Jims, Colruyt Group Academy and Yoboo joined forces with the Diabetes Liga. Together, we want to make people aware of the impact that food, exercise, sleep and stress have on their health and, most of all, help them to take achievable steps towards a healthier lifestyle.

With great results! Bio-Planet screened its entire range based on the Diabetes Liga’s guidelines. The result was a handy selection of suitable products and recipes. Customers could even take a tour with a dietician, who showed them around the range and gave personal advice. No fewer than 43.489 people have visited our web pages with more information on the condition. Colruyt Group Academy, together with Jims and Yoboo, developed an online course on lifestyle impact. Experts explain what type 2 diabetes involves and how changes in daily habits can make a real difference. The course combines theory and practical tips for everyday life, helping people make informed choices.

WHY DO YOU FAVOUR BELGIAN PRODUCTS? As the only Belgian retailer, this is simply logical. By choosing local producers and forging unique partnerships, we’re working together to secure the future of our Belgian farmers. Supplying a third of the Belgian population comes with a social responsibility, which we fully embrace. That’s why we see it as an important first step to help customers make more conscious choices. With our new ‘Locally grown, locally loved" label, we’re putting Belgian products firmly in the spotlight.

20

STEP BY STEP

Belgian to the max We want Belgian agriculture to remain sustainable for the next 30 years and beyond. That’s why our stores already carry products from 6.000 Belgian farms. Whenever possible, we source locally within Belgium. For fresh meat, milk and eggs we’re at close to 100%. 87% of apples and pears are sourced from Belgium and around 75% of vegetables. Our collaboration with 600 farms goes even further: we test new crops, reintroduce forgotten varieties, and guarantee stable sales so that farmers have the space to innovate and invest in sustainability. And sometimes it starts even earlier – with our 100% Belgian mussels, for example. The whole chain, from sea to plate, is managed entirely by Colruyt Group. The chart shows how our Belgian mussel harvest is increasing significantly year after year. Belgian mussels

For the products we make on our own production sites, we source as many of our raw materials as possible in Belgium. More than than, both production and the jobs it creates are entirely based in Belgium – something that makes us unique, and something we're proud of!

LOCALLY GROWN, LOCALLY LOVED

And we want people to know it That's why we created the 'Locally grown, locally loved' label, to highlight our conscious choice for Belgian products. You can see the label in our stores and our social media campaigns, encouraging customers to choose local Belgian products.

WHAT ARE YOU DOING FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE STRUGGLING? Society – that’s you and us together. As a Belgian retailer, we do business in an inclusive and people-oriented way. For and with everyone, including people who are struggling. We focus on people in vulnerable situations. Like the tens of thousands of young people we support together with our customers through the projects in our savings programme. And for those who are financially vulnerable, we provide inspiration every two weeks with affordable recipes.

22

STEP BY STEP

Helping young people reach their full potential Young people are the future. That’s why we want to give them the chance to grow, discover their talents and help build a better world. Through Colruyt Group Foundation, we support projects that make them stronger – from increasing resilience and motivation to learning practical skills. We especially want to reach young people growing up in socioeconomically vulnerable situations and offer them more opportunities. We don’t do this alone. Together with partners, we provide an inspiring environment where young people can find their place. We support training courses, guidance programmes and exchange programmes in Belgium and the countries where we buy our products. By doing this, we’re not just preparing young people for a job but also for their role as active citizens. Because if you feel good, you can have a positive impact on others. And that’s exactly the difference we want to make together.

Vulnerable families with children are provided with information on a non-binding basis by social organisations such as by social organisations such as the Public Welfare Centre, the General Welfare centre or Child & Family services.). Families who register receive a Colruyt recipe booklet every fortnight, with six easy recipes and shopping lists in plain language. That way, families know exactly what they will pay at the checkout. The project combines the strengths of each partner: the social welfare organisations know the families and understand their needs, while we bring expertise in cooking and in preparing tasty, balanced meals. Together, we provide a structural, non-stigmatising solution that helps increase families’ self-reliance. This collaboration once again proved to be a recipe for success last year. HOW DO YOU SOURCE PRODUCTS RESPONSIBLY?    We believe it goes without saying that working conditions at our national and international producers should be good. That’s why we want to encourage everyone in the chain to respect universal human rights and local labour laws. We do this as a convinced member of audit organisations, through certificates and by monitoring through social audits. This year, we’re also taking a step further: all Boni chocolate bars now contribute to a living income for the cocoa farmer.

24

STEP BY STEP

Measuring is knowing ... and improving

Proportion of trading partners who were audited.

We ask suppliers of imported and private-label products to sign the amfori BSCI Code of Conduct. The code of conduct includes eleven principles:

2024

• special protection for young workers • no precarious employment • no forced or bonded labour • protection of the environment • ethical business behaviour

2023

79 %

2022

64 %

• freedom of association and collective bargaining • no discrimination • fair remuneration • decent working hours • occupational health and safety • no child labour

96 %

We use social audits by recognised agencies to check that our trading partners respect the code of conduct. When we find that a producer does not respect working conditions, they have to make improvements in order to continue working with us. We support them in this through training on the amfori platform. If there’s no improvement, repeated infringements or serious violations, then we end the cooperation. Since the social audits started, we’ve seen a continuous, step-by-step improvement in working conditions. This is partly due to the audits but also to the guidance and support we provide. As you can see from the chart, we’re conducting more and more audits. And with better and better results: 95% of that 96% were given a positive assessment in 2024.

One step further for our chocolate From now on, all 100 or 200 gram Boni chocolate bars in our stores will come from a direct chain in which we join forces with organisations such as Fairtrade, Rikolto and Puratos. This sustainable cooperation started in 2020 and is designed to help to provide a living income for cocoa farmers. Moreover, our Colruyt Group Foundation finances training courses for young cocoa farmers. The 72% cocoa chocolate bar was already an initial result of this four years ago, and since this year, you can’t go wrong; it’s fair to say they’re amazing. The brandnew packaging helps: they carry the ‘Lekker Bezig’ label to make them extra recognisable to customers. At Fairtrade Belgium’s Fairtrade Frontrunner Awards, we once again won prizes. Our active commitment to a living income for cocoa farmers won us first place in the ‘Beyond Certification’ category for the second year in a row.

We love our fair chocolate and want everyone to know it. That’s why we showcased the entire range with an original campaign in Antwerp railway station.
