BOOKKEEPER JOB SUMMARY The position of Bookkeeper reports to the Plant Manager in Athens, NY and the Controller in Belchertown, MA and is responsible for managing the workflow and day-to-day accounting activities at the Athens, NY facility. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Manage the month end close process at the plant level by overseeing inventories and accounts payable transactions, ensuring proper monthend cut-offs. • Prepare vendor invoices for timely payment, including verification of receipt, pricing, account code and approval for pay. • Work with production, shipping & receiving, to ensure all inventory transactions are recorded timely and accurately. Including oversight of TSO orders and invoicing. • Daily maintenance of Tag Adjustment Log and Cars Rolling Report. • Prepare month-end accruals. • Ensure that internal controls are consistently applied. • Act as a backup for all accounting staff positions. • Support Athens Plant Manager and Corporate Controller. • Miscellaneous other duties as assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Associates degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field. • 3+ years of progressive experience in accounting within a production environment. • Familiarity with accounting standards and internal controls. • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively. • Excellent interpersonal skills and professional demeanor, as well as verbal & written communication skills. • Advanced computer skills in MS Office, as well as inventory control software. • Strong attention to detail. PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL QUALITIES The successful candidate will possess the personality traits, work habits, communication, and social skills necessary to work effectively within a dynamic and highly operational manufacturing environment. This person will have exemplary personal and professional integrity and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills. Parade step off time is 2pm. Parade will proceed from just North of the Ulster/Greene County line on Route 32, heading North to just past the Kiskatom Fire House. Reviewing stand will be at the Kiskatom Fire House. So that you may come and enjoy watching the parade, parking will be available in the parking lot off of Mountain Tpke in the former Friar Tuck parking lot, and the following locations on Route 32: at Story’s Farm, at Gallagher’s Garage, at Charlie’s Car Star, at Pipes Plus, and Rock It Trucking.
