Really Bad Idea #1

These aren’t the nerds you’re looking for Star Wars and Star Trek are two of the most iconic sci-fi franchises ever created. Their rivalry between each other is as fierce as those between the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees or between Coca-Cola and Pepsi. Thus, dressing up as Darth Vader at a Star Trek convention would be a highly illogical mistake.

Really Bad Idea #2

Inviting a T-Rex to Brunch Despite being smart for a dinosaur, the Tyrannosaurus Rex has atrocious table manners.

Frequently devouring their guests, one should be wary of inviting them to brunch.

Its name, based in Greek and Latin, means “Tyrant Lizard King”.

Originally thought to be giant lizards, they are actually more related to birds than reptiles.

The T-Rex could eat up to 500 pounds in a single bite!

Its arms are too short to reach its mouth, so it likely needs a very long toothpick after eating.

Taking a Selfie on a Subway Track Taking a selfie on a subway track is incredibly hazardous. On that note, why the hell would you ever even think of doing this?! Any likes or views that you might get will certainly be canceled out by your impending death.

Talking Politics at Thanksgiving Dinner Thanksgiving is usually a time for families to get together and celebrate their strong personal bonds. As politics is the ultimate deal-breaker for many (especially in these heady times), discussing political issues at these gatherings is not advised. • Can lead to incredibly divisive arguments, indigestion, food fights, and cause Grandpa’s next panic attack!

Frozen Pole Licking Contest One of the most definitive double dog dares out there, licking a metal pole in the dead of winter is a sure-fire way to get your tongue stuck. Better have some hot water with you, because otherwise you might be leaving some taste-buds behind. • Featured in the classic film, A Christmas Story, and the brilliantly tasteless movie Dumb and Dumber.

Tsunami Surfing Yearning for that next big extreme sport challenge? Look no further than a ‘radical’ ride on the waves of a massive tsunami. The risks might be more than one could ever bargain for, but what a “totally tubular” way to go!

• The largest tsunami ever recorded in history reached a height of 1720 feet, which

is tall enough to engulf the Taipei 101 building.

• If you are lucky they will make a movie about your life staring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson!

Looking at your iPhone While Crossing the Street iPhones are everywhere. Everyone looks down while walking on the sidewalk, but if one tries to do so while crossing the street, be prepared for a world of pain. • Distracted walking is a serious issue. Our brains evolved to focus attention on primarily one task at a time. It’s a phenomenon psychologists refer to as inattentive blindness.

Synchronized Swimming... with Piranhas!

Connecting with dolphins is a coastal tradition, as they are one of the world’s smartest animals. However, if you want to stand out from the crowd, try your luck in a piranhafilled area. You will be swimming with the fishes in more ways than one!

A cool guy. Geeky to the max. And happily sarcastic about life. Andrew Johnson is an editor based out of New York City. A graduate of Landmark College, Andrew has edited content for companies such as New York 1, Beastly Productions, and Dramatic Health Productions.

Jake Rose

A graduate of Drew University, Jake Rose has a great love for architecture, photography, and historical landmarks.

With that love in mind, Jake established Color Our Town Press, a company that has published over 20 coloring books that depict big cities and small towns across America.

Leigh Silver

Leigh is a director, writer, and producer, with a passion for telling bold and entertaining stories. A graduate of the New York Film Academy and Nova Southeastern University, he has been making films across the United States for over 10 years. In the past Leigh has worked for companies such as PBS, Flatbush Pictures and the ReelAbilities Film Festival. He is also an author; his first book, a baseball-themed poetry book called Rhymes on First, Limericks on Second and I Don’t Know The Stanzas is available now. Leigh is a fan of all New York National League sports teams, Star Wars (with the exception of Episode VIII) and mysteries in the forms of both novels and old radio shows.

Oren Sauerhaft

Oren’s life experiences were the basis of many of these Really Bad Ideas. An aspiring writer, director and cinematographer from Chappaqua, New York, Oren studied film at Lynn University and has been freelancing in New York City ever since. He aspires to one day run his own TV show and direct major motion pictures.
