Fort Collins Country Club Produces Second Assistant of the Year Award Winner in Two Years

There must be something in the water at Fort Collins Country Club Led by 2015 Assistant of the Year, Tristan Fay, PGA now the Head Professional, the private facility welcomes it’s second Assistant Professional of the Year in just two years Meghan Hunter, PGA won the award in 2022 and now Marcus Gillmor, PGA brings another award back home

Gillmor is described as being a “First Class” professional with the member experience always at the forefront of his mind. He has a desire to produce events, lessons, club and junior programming to the highest quality for the betterment of the game. Marcus is a cornerstone member of a team of award-winning PGA of America Golf Professionals which is apparent in his willingness to help his fellow teammates.

Uplifting his staff is just one of the ways he helps propell everyone forward toward their mutual goals He has used a “question of the day,” to give everyone a break in their responsibilities and have a fun and challenging question they have to answer as a team This is been a great way to make sure everyone is having a positive day and show the team that he cares how they are doing

As apparent, teamwork is very important to Marcus, and that is part of his leadership strategy Leading by example and communication while taking responsibility for the tasks that need to be done are what he strives for One of the ways he has done this at Fort Collins Country Club is creating a staff biography board on their website. This way he can highlight the team for members and guests and create a personable atmosphere for all. This even led to a PGA Golf Management student reaching out about potentially interning for the staff because he was so impressed with being able to get to know everyone. That student was hired as a summer intern.

This kind of creative idea is the kind of inspiration Gillmor brings to other PGA of America Golf Professionals he interacts with Through innovative, creative ideas, he is always looking for ways to bring a fresh perspective which enhances each individual’s experience
