PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO CEA BYLAWS

The consideration of proposed amendments to the Association’s Bylaws will be included in the agenda for the April 17-18, 2026 CEA Delegate Assembly. The deadline for submitting proposed Bylaws Amendments to the Committee on Documents is 5:00 PM on Friday, January 16, 2026, which is at least 90 days prior to the Delegate Assembly, as is stipulated in the Association’s Bylaws. Late submissions are not permitted. Only submissions through the links provided in this handbook will be accepted.

Any member may submit a Proposed Bylaw Amendment by following the steps below:

1) Review CEA’s current Bylaws in order to determine the Section and Paragraph that you would like to amend. CEA’s Bylaws may be found in the CEA Documents of Authority which are posted online on the Governance page of the Members Only section of our website. (You must be logged in to the website as a member in order to view Members Only content.)

2)Review the sample Proposed Bylaw Amendment form that follows to understand the information that you will need to submit on your official form.

3) Draft your Proposed Bylaw Amendment in accordance with the sample form.

4)Once you have completed your draft and are satisfied that your draft contains all of the changes you would like, complete the official Proposed Bylaw Amendment form HERE.

5) If a member/local affiliate has an idea for a Bylaws amendment and would like the assistance of the Committee in preparing the amendment, they should contact the Committee’s Staff Consultant, Kris Gomez via email to kgomez@coloradoea.org.
