Donations and words of encouragement are appreciated at this moment, Northglenn’s Masjid Ikhlas outreach director Ihsan Riahi said as the community prepares for new refugees from Afghanistan. The mosque — also called the Metro Denver North Islamic Center — which counts many immigrants from Afghanistan or people with connections to the country as members, is collecting donations for incoming refugees. The Taliban recently took control of Afghanistan’s government, leading to an exodus from the country. The mosque said the most needed items are diapers, baby items, SEE MOSQUE, P4
