All of these measures are on trend for what other cities are doing across the country to attack the housing crisis, according to Ressler. He gave examples of Minneapolis, which has made policy and ordinance changes to make parking less of a barrier to building more a ordable rental housing.

In fact, parking and housing affordability is an issue that Wheat Ridge City Council is working on in their current session.

Ressler believes that the housing market will see more creative solutions. Cities like Wheat Ridge are at the cutting edge of things. When asked what he predicts to be the next trend in housing, Ressler said transit-oriented collaborations.
