City, spent about 18 months converting his 1982 Plymouth Satellite to electric. He still makes occasional adjustments, saying he just now got the defrost function working.
But, he’s also modernized it with “all the bells and whistles,” like remote start. It’s now his daily vehicle, as he puts about 10,000 miles on it a year.






As an EV, he said the Satellite has a 325-mile range and takes about 10 hours to charge at his home.

Of course, range and charging times depend on which batteries and electric motors owners retro t into the cars.

Brothers Kevin and Tim Bradley took the motor and battery pack from a totaled 2015 Tesla and installed them in Tim’s Pontiac Fiero. e work took a solid ve months, they said, but it now has a 200-mile range and can charge overnight.



Tim, who lives in Colorado, found the Fiero in Iowa with 14,000 miles on it, and drove it until it hit 22,000 miles. ey started taking it apart for EV conversion in
