eat pounded down on downtown Belmar on July 20, but that didn’t stop residents and their dogs from attending the Canine Cooldown celebration. The event was part of a collaboration between Foothills Animal Shelter and Belmar. Residents gathered to share their story of how they adopted their dog. It featured games, prizes and pools for dogs to cool off in. For more information about Foothills Animal Shelter visit foothillsanimalshelter.org.
