Fields Trading Post was a mainstay in Conifer.

In the 1920s, the Charleston was the dance rage, Calvin Coolidge was president for most of the decade, and Charles Lindbergh piloted the Spirit of St. Louis across the Atlantic.

And Conifer was a thriving community, with people making their livelihoods from ranching, farming and lumbering. In that decade, the Yellow Barn, owned by the Mullen family, had become popular spot dances, DirtaCheap Hustler Ad for 3_31_21 v2.pdf meetings and more.

The area’s population was about 500, according to historian John Steinle, and the core of Conifer had about 15 businesses including stores, a post office, a music teacher, stagecoach line, two churches and a painter. Fields Trading Post opened in 1929.

Steinle provided historical information about Conifer for a Conifer Historical Society and Museum virtual program on April 11, aided by other area historians Bonnie Scudder, Suzi Morris, Rex Rideout and more, who chimed in with stories of the area.

Experienced RN needed part-time to full-time to provide home health and hospice care to our patients in the mountain communities west of Denver. Minimum requirements: 2 years of experience, an RN or BSN degree, and an active Colorado nursing license.

CNAs needed part-time to full-time to supplement our current staff. Our CNAs provide Home Health and Hospice patient care in the home, in nursing facilities and in assisted living facilities. An active Colorado CNA license is required.

Experienced SLP needed part-time to serve our mountain and foothills communities, specifically within our service area along the I-70 corridor. A Master’s degree, 4+ years of experience and an active Colorado license are required.

Social Worker needed to be a vital member of our interdisciplinary Palliative Care and Hospice teams based in Evergreen. The position is full-time, is benefits eligible, and is based out of the Evergreen offices, but will require travel to homes throughout our service area. An MSW degree or equivalent experience and an active CO license, are required; an LCSW is preferred.

Experienced Physical Therapist needed to join our interdisciplinary Home Health team based in Evergreen. The position is part-time with the potential to grow to full-time, will become benefits-eligible once fully trained and carrying a caseload of 48 RVUs per pay period (every two weeks) , and will require travel to homes throughout our service area, specifically Evergreen and the 285 corridor. A PT or DPT degree, a minimum of two years of experience, and an active Colorado license are required.

Intake Coordinator/Medical Records Processor needed full-time to join our patient care/ administrative team in Evergreen, Colorado. The position is 40 hours per week with rotating weekends and is benefits eligible. Requirements include a HS diploma or equivalent, the ability to multi-task in a fastpaced environment, outstanding customer service skills, and attention to detail. Familiarity with medical terminology, data entry experience or previous experience with electronic medical records, is a plus.

Home health, hospice and geriatric experience preferred for all clinical positions. Our service area encompasses the mountain communities within Jefferson, Clear Creek, Gilpin and Park counties (along both the I-70 and 285 corridors).
