A builder once again has plans for the northern flank of North Table Mountain. This time, the vision is to build up to 32 new single family homes on 30 acres located off of West 58th Drive. A portion of that parcel, which is owned by Charles Williams, had recently eyed for development by another developer, NexMetro, as part of a proposal to build a 235-unit rental community on the mountain. NexMetro has since abandoned that proposal and is now seeking to build that community on land at the intersection of West 54th Avenue and McIntyre Street. Justin Javernick, a builder who said he lives on Blanca Court about 750 feet from the proposed development, said his firm is hoping to bring “luxury custom homes with walkouts and four-sided facades” to the site. “We do intend to design and builder control all of the lots,” said Javernick during a community meeting introducing the project held on Feb. 11. “And we intend to bring a very high-end product to the area.” While Javernick’s firm has not starting the platting process for the properties, he said it is hoping to sell the properties for about $1.5 million each. “We are targeting an aggressive price point per foot that is at the top of the market, if not higher,” said Javernick. “We plan on building very nice homes that should increase everyone’s value.” SEE DEVELOPER, P4
Thirty couples participated in Loveland Ski Area’s 30th annual Mountaintop Matrimony ceremony Sunday afternoon. Seven couples married and 23 renewed their vows at noon in Forest Meadow before skiing and snowboarding back down the mountain. Participation has ranged from 70 to 100 couples in years past. However, this year, capacity was limited and COURTESY OF CASEY DAY/LOVELAND SKI AREA social distancing observed during the ceremony.

at the age of 68. “He was involved in just about every volunteer effort and community effort in the city of Golden,” added Kay. “So anyMcKee time anything good was happening in the city of Golden you could always find Bill McKee.” Among those most visible contributions were two terms on the Golden city council, which McKee served on from 1996 to
2004. Prior to that, McKee spent eight years on the Golden Planning Commission. McKee’s time on both the council and planning commission coincided with important changes in the history of the city as city leaders worked to revitalize downtown and bring more business and tourism to Golden, paving the way for the vibrant city residents know today.
