‘We’re going to recover’ Golden family speaks publicly about bloody home invasion By Christy Steadman csteadman@coloradocommunitymedia.com Two Golden teachers spoke to the public on June 2, for the first time in two weeks since strangers burst into their Washington Avenue home and seriously wounding one of them.

Informative speakers included Dr. John Nicoletti, District Attorney Pete Weir, Golden Police Chief Bill Kilpatrick and Golden police officers Joe Paige and Jodene Fowler. The meeting was recorded and is available on the City of Golden’s website: www.

cityofgolden.net. A home safety checklist can be found at Golden city hall, 911 10th St., or on the city’s website. Officers with the Golden Police Department will also come to residential homes in Golden to make a security check assessment. To set up an appointment, call the police department at 303-384-8045.
