After last year saw intense scrutiny on a nonprofit body run by City of Englewood officials, an outside report on its finances didn’t quite amount to a smoking gun — but it wasn’t quite a clean bill of health either. The forensic accounting report examined the books of the Englewood Environmental Foundation — known as EEF — and the city had it done by an outside company to seek “reassurance(s) that there is no evidence of duplicate payments, wasteful spending, and/or fraud,” read the report, dated Sept. 27 and released on the city’s website. Created by the city in the late 1990s, EEF oversees property that the city has varying degrees of influence over, including the Englewood Civic Center — the city hall — and the surrounding CityCenter Englewood shopping development. The report says an examination didn’t turn up “any significant discrepancies” between seven years of bank activity and EEF’s own internal recordkeeping, and doesn’t

Gaspare Licata cooks garlic. He is from Italy and left his country at the age of 13 to learn how to be a better chef. He’s catered for the Kennedy family and was a personal chef for the Los Angeles Rams.
Gaspare Licata grew up in a household where cooking and baking was the family business. The Sicily, Italy native left his country and family when he was only 13 to learn more about the family trade.
