Homecoming sparks memories of beautiful floats in the parade when I was a Pirate and we built them all at Burt Chevrolet.” She attended Englewood High School soon after it was built in 1955. “The school was brand new and really nice when I was there,” she said. “I have lived in Englewood a long time so I watched the changes at the high school. I saw the number of students get smaller and smaller and finally watched as they tore down most of the school I remember. But I will say the new school is very, very nice.”

Sherry Swanson Beianzi brought set up her lawn chair at Mansfield and Logan on Oct. 6 to watch the Englewood High School homecoming parade. “I marched as a member of the pep club when I went to Englewood High School a lot of years ago,” the 1957 EHS graduate said. “The parade was a lot bigger back then because there were so many more kids at Englewood. Three seats are up for election on the Englewood Schools Board of Education this November, with only one incumbent running for re-election. The other four candidates are newcomers — an author, a landscaping and irrigation manager, a Jefferson County School District official and a teacher who has taught in Denver and Englewood school districts. The school board sets policies for the district, passes the district budget and chooses the superintendent. The superintendent administers the policies and budget and makes recommendations to the board on both. Citizens will have three votes to cast on Election Day, one for each
