Englewood police have arrested a man in connection with a Labor Day shooting in which the suspect allegedly entered a home through the front door and shot a male occupant. Englewood police, with assistance from the Sheridan Police Department and the Fugitive Location Apprehension Group, arrested Kenneth Tafoya, 49, about 4 p.m. Sept. 5, the day after the early-morning shooting. Police took Tayofa into Tafoya custody without incident, according to a Sept. 7 news release. He was charged with criminal attempt of firstdegree murder. He was being held at the Arapahoe County jail on $50,000 bond. The victim, a man in his 50s, was in critical condition as of Sept. 5 at Swedish Medical Center, said Chad Read, spokesman for the Englewood Police Department. No update on the victim’s condition was available. At the time of the shooting on Sept. 4, the suspect fled before police arrived about 3:04 a.m. at the victim’s home in a multifamily building at 3470 S. Lincoln St. A woman in the home was not harmed. SEE SHOOTING, P20
