On a large-screen TV, images of children engaged in sexual acts with children and adults cycled on a screensaver in a bedroom in Englewood, according to Englewood police. That’s what led officers to uncover what they said are more than 100,000 items of child pornography on discs and computer files belonging to brothers Timothy and Daniel Alberts. Timothy Alberts, who appeared at a preliminary hearing June 20 in Arapahoe County District Court in Centennial, was jailed along with his brother on charges of sexual exploitation of a child. Daniel In a preliminary hearing, a Alberts court decides whether there is enough evidence to take the case to trial — it doesn’t decide whether a suspect is guilty. Detective Brian Taylor of Englewood police testified as the only witness in the hearing and described the Alberts’ residence at 3951 S. Washington St. Timothy as infested with vermin and Alberts containing around 20,000 files of child pornography. SEE BROTHERS, P9
