The attire varied from shorts and sweatshirts to formal dresses and suits as about 100 young men and women attended the annual after-prom event at Englewood High School. Araya Miller attended her first prom and her first after prom. “This is part of a nice evening,” she said. “The prom was fun because I got to dance a lot and I love to dance. This after prom is fun too. The food was good and there is a lot to do. All this makes it worth staying up all night.” Kelly Prien headed the group of volunteers
that organized and put on after prom. Prien said the decorations at the entrance were donated and they were awesome with a theme about water, the beach and characters like “Father Neptune.” There was free food, games and activities. Students were given raffle tickets to fill out and there was an array of items that were given away during the night. Prien said she and the other parents at the event felt after prom went well. “There were quite a few kids who joined us,” she said. “I was there and from watching them and from the comments from the kids, it seemed like everyone had a good time.”
