School transportation manager moves on New Parker

Terry Wilson has spent the last 33 years making sure students in Elizabeth school district had safe transportation to and from school. As the district’s transportation manager, Wilson would often hit the road as early as 1 a.m. on snowy days, to drive routes around Elizabeth and assess the extent of the snow, and whether or not it was safe for bus drivers to make their morning route. Elbert County has contracted with Greenwood Village consulting firm
Raftelis to assess the county’s growth impact fees. The county will pay the firm up to $56,260 for the study, with hopes to conclude the work by the end of October.
Last year Elbert County received $425,000 from growth impact fees. The fees are paid by developers, residents who build a new home, or residents who build an accessory dwelling on their property. SEE FEES, P6
Under the gazebo at O’Brien Park in Parker, Eddie Biegel rang the ceremonial Rotary Bell on Sept. 1 to sound off the first meeting of a groundbreaking Rotarian club for special-needs citizens. Biegel is the first president of the new Rotary Satellite Club of Parker, CO Cherry Creek Valley United. The United Rotary club inaugurated its first 25 members at the O’Brien Park gazebo and flower garden, both of which were gifts from local Rotary clubs.
