The Center addresses the issues that affect community members who are unemployed, underemployed, on fixed incomes, disabled, and elderly. Volunteers are the lifeblood of Help & Hope Center, and over 300 dedicated volunteers serve in various positions throughout the agency.

Maximum scholarship is $5,000 per school year and can be used to remove barriers to their education like food and housing insecurities, transportation, child care, tools or supplies in addition to tuition, books or fees. In 5 years we have awarded nearly 250 scholarships valued at over $620,000. Our scholars have a 92% graduation and enrollment rate over this period of time. We partner with the Colorado Community College network of schools and two technical colleges in the Denver area to support the trade industry. Our first scholar from Douglas County is now a HIPS Board of Directors.
MISSION STATEMENT The Highlands Ranch Cultural Affairs Association’s mission is to provide educational opportunities through artistic, musical, theatrical, and dance events, and to advance and preserve the natural and cultural history of Highlands Ranch residents and the surrounding communities.

Our unique, 100% volunteer organization provides one-on-one guidance toward self-sufficiency and a generous food bank stocked by community food drives and charitable donations. During COVID-19 we are continuing to safely supply essential services with remote volunteers conducting client interviews via phone and utilizing secure cloud technology to communicate information and shopping lists to those working on site. In our building, a minimal crew answers incoming calls, prepares client groceries for contact-free pickup and accepts and sorts donations. Contributions to Parker Task Force directly fund the
vital needs of those facing empty cupboards, utility shut-offs and eviction.

ABOUT US RMCR is a foster-based rescue staffed entirely by volunteers. Because we do not turn dogs away based on age or health, we often have 12+ Compassionate Care dogs at any given time who are less-desirable for adoption. Some have been in our care for more than four years. Approximately 97% of all financial donations go directly to care for the dogs, e.g., medical care, food with an average expense of $925 for every dog rescued. Many shelters will contact us when they have a cocker who needs medical assistance or rehabilitation, thus decreasing the number of dogs who lose their lives in shelters.

ABOUT US For 35 years, Advocates for Children CASA has helped give a voice to abused and neglected children in Douglas, Arapahoe, Elbert, and Lincoln counties. GIVING OPPORTUNITIES Monetary and food donations are accepted to support struggling families and individuals in the community through wrap-around services, case management, and a food pantry.
Among the Center’s services is a vital transportation program, providing 750 rides a month to doctor appointments, grocery stores and on errands. An average of 500 additional rides a month take place in a fleet of buses for activity trips. Donations are sought on behalf of these folks who led our nation, fought for our freedoms, lived productive lives, and raised generations of hard workers. They have earned our respect and now it is time for us to help them “love life in the second half.”
The Senior Center transportation program provides about 700 rides a month to those who have made the heart wrenching decision to give up their car, a lifeline of independence to 350+ seniors, with more registering all the time.
ABOUT US Catholic Charities in Castle Rock serves more than 115 families each month through case management, customized Care Plans, and a variety of wrap-around services. We work on innovative and collaborative solutions that go beyond the traditional “hand-outs” approach to address the root causes of poverty. Established programs include case management, counseling, English as a Second Language, emergency services, furniture outreach, and specialty programs such as winter coats, holiday turkeys, and Christmas Giving Tree. These services give families a sense of normalcy while they pursue stability. A new program is the childcare voucher program, helping struggling families afford childcare. We are co-located with other providers to improve access for the families we serve.

For more than 20 years, DCSAR and its 70-strong team of volunteers has helped the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office find and extract missing kids, at-risk adults, lost hikers and severely injured climbers. Dispatched through the county’s 911 system, we are always ready to help - and there is never a charge for our services. Please support us this year with our multi-year campaign to raise funds to replace our well-loved but aging (20 years!) and barely road-worthy command post. Costing nearly $100,000 when properly outfitted, command posts are not provided by the county - nor are the funds to procure them.

MISSION STATEMENT The DCVMF Mission is two-pronged: First, support Douglas County Veterans by providing emergency assistance and improving the quality of life.
ABOUT US Douglas County Veterans Monument Foundation (DCVMF) was created to construct a Monument, located at the corner of 4th and Wilcox. While we still maintain the Monument plaza, providing an award-winning gathering place to remember and honor all of our past, present and future veterans. DCVMF is also dedicated to supporting our very own hero’s right here in Douglas County, putting the needs
of our Veterans at the forefront through our Veteran Assistance Grants. These once in a lifetime grants are designed to bridge any gaps while looking for longer term solutions. We help primarily with rent, mortgage, and utilities assistance up to $2,000 for all eligible Veterans who may need a hand up in their time of need.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Patricia Hostetler YEAR ESTABlIShED 1987 ABOUT US Douglas Land Conservancy (DLC) is a non-profit organization made up of concerned citizens. Based in Castle Rock, since 1987, DLC primarily serves Douglas County. However, recognizing the importance
of a regional approach in land conservation DLC has broadened its focus to support surrounding counties, including Jefferson and Elbert. Since 1987 DLC has protected 24,000 acres from being developed, in perpetuity. These lands include agricultural lands, public recreation open space, scenic viewscapes, critical wildlife habitat, and wetlands.11,102 acres are open to the public and provide great trails and recreational experiences for all to enjoy.12,898 acres are private lands that protect agricultural operations, open space, scenic viewscapes, critical wildlife habitat, and wetlands. It is DLC’s job to ensure that these properties are protected forever by visiting each property annually. The hardest part of our job begins once a conservation easement is put in place on the land.
