Dear Douglas County Residents, Douglas County Community Foundation (DCCF) believes everyone deserves to live a productive and fulfilled life, and we recognize that everyone needs help from time to time. The face of need in Douglas County may surprise you … Although one of the most affluent communities in Colorado, more than 70,000 Douglas County residents lack an independent health insurance plan. Additionally, a rising number of Douglas County residents experience homelessness, and many more are plagued by food insecurity. But when you give … Colorado’s largest single day of philanthropic giving is Tuesday, December 7. Douglas County Gives brings together more than 40 organizations that recognize the strength of an empowered nonprofit community. Each member is a qualified Colorado Gives nonprofit, dedicated to promoting, growing and finding synergies among their organizations through increased awareness and the belief that a “rising tide lifts all boats.” In 2020, more than $1 million was raised to support Douglas County nonprofits through Colorado Gives. This year, every donation scheduled for or made on December 7th will receive a matching portion of the Colorado Gives Day incentive fund of $1.6 million. Let’s keep this upward trend going. DCCF is proud to be a regional champion for Colorado Gives Day and the “give where you live” campaign. The Senior Center transportation program provides over 750 rides per month (a lifeline of independence) to 350+ older adults that no longer are driving. We welcome ride registrations on the rise daily.
200 families each month through case management, customized Care Plans, and a variety of wrap-around services. We work on innovative and collaborative solutions that go beyond the traditional “hand-outs” approach to address the root causes of poverty. Established programs include case management, counseling, English as a Second Language, emergency services, childcare vouchers, and specialty programs such as winter coats, holiday turkeys, and Christmas Giving Tree. These services give families a sense of normalcy while they pursue stability. For more than 20 years, DCSAR and its 70-strong team of volunteers has helped the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office find and extract missing kids, at-risk adults, lost hikers and severely injured climbers. MISSION STATEMENT Breaking the cycle of student homelessness and poverty through education. HIPS provide scholarships to homeless or students in poverty between the ages of 17-25 to attend a college or trade school, get a post-secondary education and become competitive in the job market, where they ultimately break their cycle of homelessness or poverty. Average scholarship is $5,000 per school year and can be used to remove barriers to their education like food and housing insecurities, transportation, child care, tools or supplies, in addition to tuition, books or fees. In our first 6 years we have awarded nearly 280 scholarships valued at over $700,000. Our scholars
have a 92% graduation and enrollment rate over this period of time. We partner with the Colorado Community College network of schools and Pickens Technical College in the Denver area to support the trade industry.

ABOUT US RMCR is a foster-based rescue staffed entirely by volunteers. Because we do not turn dogs away based on age or health, we often have 12+ Compassionate Care dogs at any given time who are less-desirable for adoption. Some have been in our care for more than four years.
