According to Bob Extstrom, of the engineering and public works department, about 834 square feet of additional right-of-way is needed at the northwest corner of Stage Run Road and Dransfeldt Road to relocate the existing tra c signal, to install a new tra c pedestal pole and accommodate new sidewalks and curb ramps.
In addition, about 3,829 square feet of temporary construction easement is needed to accommodate construction and reconstruct portions of the private driveway at the northeast corner.

Exstrom said the acquisition will cost just over $43,000, with funding and closing costs coming from the 2023 Urban Renewal Project fund. Councilmembers are supportive of this project as it aims to keep tra c owing and enhance public safety.

“Due to concerns with budget timing the roadway construction within the summer break window, the full drainage improvements were delayed and temporary measures were bid with the project instead,” said Grabczyk.
After approving $989,915.50 to 53 Corporation, LLC on May 1, 2023, the council approved a $498,705 increase due to budget and schedule concerns, making the total $1,488,220.50.






As the drainage improvements are o -street, they will not impede school tra c.
Drainage improvements are planned to be complete in December.
