The two finalists to be Douglas County Schools’ next superintendent have held their first public interviews covering a range of topics, including hotly debated issues such as school

vouchers, arming teachers and political polarization in the community. The school board named charter school Executive Director Erin Kane from American Academy and a district Executive Director of Schools Danny Winsor as its two finalists for superin-

Just a few days after Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that his military would begin an invasion of Ukraine, residents of the Town of Parker gathered to take each other’s hands and pray. Dozens of residents from several different faiths came out for the 30-minute prayer service, which was held at O’Brien Park March 1 at 7 p.m. Jersey Orozco said the reason she started planning the service the day before it happened was because she hadn’t yet heard of ways to donate to help the people of Ukraine. “The best thing we can do is pray,” she said.
