Lone Tree will expand its free shuttle service beyond city boundaries in 2024 as officials believe passenger interest is rebounding after the lull that
hit amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The Link On Demand free shuttle currently takes riders anywhere within city limits during its service hours. Starting Feb. 1, the shuttle will offer rides to and from the Meridian area, about three miles northeast of Lone Tree. People can book rides through the Link On Demand app. “We know there’s a lot of demand to grow into that area, and that’s really what we’re excited about,” Justin Schmitz, the city’s director of public works and mobility, said at a recent

As part of the expansion project, two additional Link On Demand vehicles will be phased into service in February. “It’s not just an expansion,” Schmitz said. “It is also (to) make sure we have more vehicles available within the city to provide service within and beyond the city.” The expansion of the service is projected to cost up to $1.44 million in SEE RIDESHARE, P8
