The Blackbird Café in Kittredge was among the participating eateries at last week’s Taste of Evergreen event, and came away a winner. Owner Terry Varyu won the event’s “One bite challenge” with her chorizo brunch bites. An estimated 400 area residents attended the Evergreen Area Chamber of Commerce’s Taste of Evergreen event Oct. 5 at the Evergreen Lake House. Attendees lined up early to mingle outside and to listen to music by Somebody’s Brother before going inside to find the food and drinks that awaited them.
