I know it can be really intimidating to start from ground zero, but I promise the shooters are so friendly and want to help you. Even reaching out to people who you see mounted shooting on social media is a great way to just make a connection and ask questions.

Mounted shooting has been one of the most rewarding things I have ever done, and it came at a time in my life that I needed a fresh start at something new and a chance to be great at something I wasn’t before. It pushed my horsemanship to the next level and brought my family into a sport that we never thought we could do. My dad was never much of a horse guy, even though my mom and I have always been competitive equestrians, and this sport encouraged him to learn how to ride for the rst time in his life. Now, the two of us go to shoots and have a sport that we get to do together. It is never too late to try something new and I promise something good will come out of it.
