The Town of Elizabeth Main Street Board of Directors is seeking a new member. Members assume the responsibility for all activities of the town’s Main Street Program, are responsible for establishing and determining goals for downtown and Main Street revitalization, and must fulfill the requirements of the Colorado Main Street Program, which has a goal of revitalizing downtown areas to make them more vibrant. The Main Street Board of Directors is looking for a candidate with experience or knowledge in administration, program development, economic development, downtown business, communication, event management and historic preservation. The board currently has five members and is looking to fill one open position to complete the six-member board. The new member will be appointed by the Elizabeth Board of Trustees. The new member will fill the vacant position previously held by Tim Miller. Miller recently left the coard after moving from Elizabeth for a new job. He also previously worked as the director for the Pines & Plains Library System. “The overall idea of what the job would entail is working on projects that are specifically related to Main Street, like events and developments,” said Zach Higgins, planner and project manager for the Town of Elizabeth. “This position is great for somebody interested in being an active member of their community. They will be able to really help shape the future of the Main Street corridor.” SEE MAIN STREET, P6
