said she and her co-organizers typically plan for 2,000. In the first few hours of the event, she estimated several hundred had already stopped through. A special prosecutor will be assigned to determine whether Sarah Schielke, the attorney for Idaho Springs’ Michael Clark, violated a court order in releasing body camera footage of a May 30 incident between Clark and Idaho Springs police. Affected parties will participate in a virtual hearing at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 3 to hear the status of the investigation, a judge determined this week. Former ISPD officer Nicholas Hanning has been charged with third-degree assault of an at-risk person after he deployed a stun gun against an unarmed Clark, 75. According to Schielke, Clark experienced major health problems as a result of the incident. On July 13, Clear Creek County Judge Cynthia Jones ruled that body camera footage of the May 30 incident between ISPD officers and Clark must be released to the public by July 29. Jones said the footage should be unredacted, however all civilian witnesses, such as EMS personnel, should have their faces blurred to protect their privacy. Jones also stated that Clark should receive unredacted and unblurred footage of the incident as well.
