The perfect artsy festival Evergreen’s annual Summerfest brings joy to attendees BY DEB HURLEY BROBST DBROBST@COLORADOCOMMUNITYMEDIA.COM

Combine beautiful weather with artisan booths, crafts for kids, live

music, libations and food trucks, and you have Evergreen’s 42nd annual Summerfest. The artwork was as diverse as the artists themselves — from photography and paintings to jewelry and clothing to candles and functional art — during the two-day festival July 23-24. Band Kamp was rocking the afternoon of July 24 as a backdrop to the fun as attendees browsed through

the booths, enjoyed lunch and listened to the music. For jewelry maker Beth Greene of New Mexico, Summerfest was the perfect combination of activities, not just artists’ booths, which made her decided to sell her work here this year. Greene works in both sterling silver and gold, pleased with the steady attendance at the event. Adam Weiss of Nebraska, who works in copper, has been showing

Bear Creek at Kittredge Park now open to the public

Jeffco, property owner reach temporary agreement Jefferson County and the owner of property along Bear Creek at Kittredge Park have agreed to a temporary arrangement to allow the public access to Bear Creek. Beach access is limited to the north side of the creek in the park only during park hours, which are one hour before sunrise and one hour after sunset, according to information supplied by the county.
