Parmalee Elementary’s third, fourth and fifth graders are learning about respect, confidence, sportsmanship, perseverance and more as they also learn to hold a golf club, the proper stance and the swing. Most who spoke at the March 8 Clear Creek County commissioners meeting favored renaming Mount

Evans to Mount Blue Sky. Others generally favored renaming the peak but didn’t back a specific petition, saying they wanted the tribes that originally lived in Colorado to rename the mountain. Along with dozens of written comments beforehand, about 20 county residents, people of indigenous descent and residents of the Front Range spoke at the March 8 meeting.
