Arapahoe reclaims trophy STAFF REPORT

The milk can will be residing at Arapahoe High School this year. Arapahoe’s football team took a 9-0 first-half lead and held on for a 9-7 victory over rival Heritage in the annual Brookridge Trophy game Sept. 13. at Littleton Public Schools Stadium.

It was the fourth win in the past five games for the Warriors in the series against Heritage, and Arapahoe will regain possession of the silver milk can after a loss last season. In games dating to the 2004 season, the Warriors are 12-3 in contests against the Eagles. The trophy is named for the Brookridge Dairy farm that once stood

on the ground that is now the LPS stadium. The win raised Arapahoe’s record to 2-1 while Heritage slipped to 1-1 on the season. Arapahoe’s next game is against Rock Canyon on Sept. 19 at Echo Park Stadium in Parker. Heritage will play Thornton Sept. 20 at Littleton Public Schools Stadium.
