WHAT THEY DO:

Jill’s Feed and Country Supply provides Elizabeth, and the surrounding area, with necessary animal husbandry supplies, including specialty feed, accessories, and veterinary medical necessities. Jill’s Feed and Country Supply also sells high quality show standard feed, drawing customers from around the state of Colorado.

Owner Jill Walkinshaw and her staff also aid and advise people raising livestock and horses. Walkinshaw has extensive experience working in veterinary clinics and has devoted her life to bettering the health of animals.

In addition to livestock and horse supplies, the store also offers goods produced by local artisans. The store also hosts an annual plant sale around Mother’s Day to benefit the local Elbert County 4-H extension.

HISTORY:

Before the store became Jill’s Feed and Country Supply, Frank Ibarra operated a feed store in the same location. Jill Walkinshaw worked for Ibarra for 10 years after which she worked at three other feed stores and then purchased the space. Originally wanting to name the store Meadowlark for the vibrant grassland bird, Walkinshaw decided on Jill’s Feed and Country Supply for the name recognition she had with the Elizabeth and Elbert County community. Walkinshaw’s feed store has been going strong for eight years.
