A NEW TREE IN FOUNDERS PLAZA
The city of Brighton erected a new Christmas tree for the community to enjoy in Founders Plaza, located in the heart of downtown Brighton. Heavy winds in June uprooted the old tree in front of Historic City Hall. The old tree was at least 80 years old and the main fixture at the Holiday Festival of Lights Parade. City officials said it will mark a new holiday tradition in coming years, but it won’t be a fixture of the Holiday Festival of Lights Parade this year. The parade is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 12 from 5 to 9 p.m. and will take a different route. PHOTO BY LIAM ADAMS
