What’s wonderful about “Playground of the Potomac” is that you can walk around our downtown area easily after parking your vehicle or golf cart.
Downtown Colonial Beach parking is now even more convenient with on-street parking, as well as parking lots throughout town. You can Pay-by-Plate by using a nearby Paystation, downlaoding the Flowbird app on your smart phone, or even pay via text!
HANDICAPPED PARKING
Parking is FREE for all valid handicapped and Purple Heart license plate or placard holders at all Public Parking spots and lots in Downtown Colonial Beach (Green on map).
Free parking does not apply to trailers or oversized vehicles.
FREE OFF-SEASON PARKING
The Town of Colonial Beach operates a seasonal parking program. Residents and visitors may park in any of our Public Parking spots (Green on map) for FREE from October 1st to March 31st.
PURCHASING A GOLF CART DECAL
Decals can be purchased for $30.00 at our Town Hall located at 315 Douglas Avenue, Colonial Beach, VA. You will need to bring Proof of Residency in the Town of Colonial Beach by providing:
•Driver’s license and vehicle registration
Residents with driver’s licenses and vehicle registrations that do not say Town of Colonial Beach must also provide:
•A current utility bill with the owner’s name and a Government-issued ID matching the name
Residents seeking decals for golf carts must also provide:
•Valid golf cart inspection certificate and insurance
PAY BY PLATE –
Park your vehicle at one of the designated parking zones and secure a parking pass via one of the payment methods below.
PAY AT THE PAYSTATION
Locate the nearest parking meter. Enter your license plate number, zone, duration and payment information. Coins are not accepted and change is not provided.
PAY WITH FLOWBIRD
Scan the code to download the Flowbird app. Enter your license plate number, zone, duration and payment information.
PAY VIA TEXT
Text your Zone Code to 727563 and follow the prompts. Message & data rates may apply. Business - Zone 1: ParkCB1 Beach - Zone 2: ParkCB2
Oversized Vehicles & Trailers - Zone 2: ParkCB3 (only in the Castlewood lot)
Once you’ve made payment, you’re all set for the alloted purchase time. You do not have to display your receipt on your dashboard.
Seasonal parking is enforced 7 days a week from April 1st to September 30th. Daily passes valid from 7am-8pm on the date of purchase.
Need more time on the meter? Keep it simple with the Flowbird app. Add time to your meter from the beach, at lunch, etc.

STREET PARKING
On-street parking is available from 7 A.M. - 8:00 P.M. seven days a week. There are also five 15-minute free parking spaces along Washington Avenue (see Limited Time Parking in Orange on map). These spots can be used to pick up food from one of our great downtown restaurants, ice cream shops, or for a quick trip into one of our retail shops.
PARKING RATES
Pay using a Paystation meter (cash or credit), with the Flowbird mobile parking app (additional $0.35 per transaction), or Pay Via Text (text message rates may apply). Please see the back panel for more information.
•Business (Zone 1) - $2/hour or $20/day
•Beach - (Zone 2) - $3/hour or $25/day
•Oversized Vehicles or Trailers (Zone 2) - $35/day Vehicles with trailers or are oversized may only use the designated Public Parking spots (in Green) at Castlewood parking lot.
