COUNCIL COMMUNICATES Highlights from Town of Colonial Beach Town Council Meeting: October 5, 2022

The published agenda was amended by a unanimous vote of Town Council to include a closed meeting pursuant to VA code 2.2-3711(a)(7) for consultation with legal counsel pertaining to pending litigation, where such consultation in open meeting would adversely the litigation posture of the public body, in the pending court cases in Westmoreland County Circuit Court.

REGULAR AGENDA ITEMS Presentations 6a. Community Enhancement Update was provided by Brook Shamblin, Community Enhancement Officer 28 code enforcements have been abated since June and all other requests are currently being addressed by the Community Development & Zoning department.

Old Business 8a. Personal Property Tax Relief & Vehicle License Fees (Decals) Rebate APPROVED, Option 1 of Personal Property Tax Relief, Increases Town Contribution to $146,424.47. 46% Town Contribution of first $20,000 of assessment. APPROVED, Option 1 of Vehicle License Fees Rebate, charge vehicle license fee on personal property tax bill, and eliminate decal system. 8b. Potential Park Site in North Side at Azalea Rd and Stratford St. Lot Town Council directed staff to identify funds in the amount of $30,000 for a Parks Master Plan and present it to Town Council at the Regular Meeting on October 19.
