Visitors to Christmas in Cathedral Square can expect music from local artists and Luxury Live Music, Brum’s Penguin Parade and traditional crafts, ornaments, and gifts from an array of THE independent Midlands businesses. Stalls include IN THE Ya Creates, Little Moo Studio and Let it Bee. There will also be a selection of pop-up food and drink vendors, as well as the return of the infamous Pigeon in the Park pub. Vendors include Purecraft Bar and Kitchen, Vagabond Wines and Hookways.

CHRISTMAS AT BIRMINGHAM CATHEDRAL This Christmas, Birmingham Cathedral will be hosting a number of services and concerts.

These will range from stunning performances from the Cathedral choir, traditional services for worshippers and many other events.

Handel’s Messiah Saturday 10th December – 7pm-9.30pm Come and experience a spectacular performance of Handel’s most famous oratorio this Christmas. Enjoy this iconic music whilst admiring four remarkable BurneJones stained-glass windows, also depicting the life of Christ.

Conducted by David Hardie, organ played

by Ashley Wagner and accompanied by a professional orchestra, soloists and Birmingham Cathedral Choir.

CHRISTMAS 2022 24th December (girls and lower voices) – 5pm This beautiful service in the days just before Christmas tells the story of God’s encounter with humanity, through Bible readings and carols. The music for this service includes some carols sung by Birmingham Cathedral Choir, and some sung by all.

Midnight Mass – Saturday 24th December, 11pm We come together late on Christmas Eve to celebrate the birth of Jesus. This is the first service of Christmas and ends at about midnight. We will sing and listen to hymns and carols, hear Bible readings and a sermon, pray, and celebrate Holy Communion. All are welcome to this atmospheric service.

Christmas Day Eucharist – Sunday 25th December, 11am Join us on Christmas morning to celebrate the birth of Jesus. A chance to reflect on and experience the joy that comes with the birth of the Christ Child, that which lies at the heart of all the bustle and busyness of the season.

All are welcome to this service as we rejoice in the birth of Christ.
