Finding the meaning of a word in a dictionary:

If you use a dictionary in book form, remember that it lists the words in alphabetical order. The better you know the English alphabet, the quicker you can find a word in a dictionary.
Write these words in alphabetical order. • If two words start with the same letter, look at the second letter. • If two words start with the same first two letters, look at the third letter, and so on.

The past participle of a regular verb is the same as the past tense form. It ends in -ed. There are many common verbs with irregular past participles. You have to learn these.
