Young Noor This is Noor-Un-Nisa Inayat Khan as a young girl.

Nothing in this image suggests that Noor would grow up to be a spy. Many stories about spies give us the idea that they are all strong, sporty men.

Noor was an imaginative, musical girl who wasn’t particularly sporty. Her story shows us that spies can come from the most unexpected places.

Princess Noor Noor’s background was fascinating. She was mixed heritage with an Indian father and an American mother. The story of her father’s background might explain where Noor got her courage, which was one of the many qualities that made her such a fantastic spy.

Noor’s great-greatgreat grandfather was the Indian Muslim ruler, Tipu Sultan.

This made Noor a princess.

Tipu Sultan was the ruler of the Kingdom of Mysore.
