Days 2 1 of giving

Day 1

STEPHANIE WALDECK Senior Client Services Manager

“Volunteering at the Humane Society of Delaware County is important to me because it allows me to make a difference in the lives of animals that have been neglected or surrendered. Spending time with them, seeing their resilience and ability to love, is a powerful reminder of compassion and perspective. The shelter’s staff and volunteers work hard to save animals and also help the community by providing free pet food and supplies to those in need. It’s rewarding to be part of such a caring, supportive environment.”

Day 2

RYAN SPOON Accountant

“I love the incredible work Huckleberry House does and the positive impact they have on the kids and young adults that they help."

Day 3

COLLIN FITZGERALD Research Manager

“The Blue Beautiful Skies Fund for Lung Cancer Research holds a deeply personal place in my heart, as it is dedicated to fighting the disease that took my father from us. He battled lung cancer with strength and resilience, and throughout his journey, the compassionate team at The James Cancer Hospital stood beside him, and our family, offering remarkable care and support. Their kindness, along with their dedication to providing him the best treatments available, helped us through an incredibly difficult time. Supporting this fund is my way of honoring my father's memory and giving back to the people who treated him with such dignity. The Blue Beautiful Skies Fund represents hope, commitment and the potential to save lives. The work they are doing to advance lung cancer research that inspires me, and I’m deeply grateful for their tireless efforts to bring us closer to a cure."

Day 4

AKEEM DENNY Operations Administrator

“I had the privilege of working with the Rosshirt Water for Africa Foundation and its Director, Tim Rosshirt. RWFAF is dedicated to bringing clean, safe water to communities in Zimbabwe, where access is severely limited. Water is fundamental to life, and in the U.S., we rarely consider scarcity due to our own privilege—it doesn’t feel real to us. But borders are just lines; they shouldn’t separate us from our shared humanity or from helping those in true need. RWFAF stays deeply committed to its mission and the people it supports."

Day 5

ZACH RINES Brokerage Associate

“Alzheimer’s & Dementia seemingly effects almost every family. While there are many studies and tests being performed daily to try and find a cure, the Alzheimer’s Association is a great organization that creates a caring and supportive environment for patients as well as their family's, beyond all of the funding that they raise."

Day 6

BRENDA OCHOA Assistant Property Manager

“At the age of 11, I received my first donated toy. My mom was juggling three cleaning jobs and struggled to make ends meet, which meant there would be no gifts under our tree for the second year. That Christmas morning, my mom was 100% open about the source of the gifts, and I am thankful that, even at a young age, it did not go over my head. I was so grateful that a stranger had donated a Paddington stuffed bear, which I cherished deeply throughout my childhood and into my teenage years. My kind donor had no idea of the profound impact their donation would have on me at 11, and nearly 20 years later, I have continued to pay it forward on their behalf."

Day 7

JULIE SIMONO Executive Vice President

“I was first introduced to Huckleberry House through a few of my coworkers, who were actively involved as volunteers. Inspired by their commitment, I participated in the Sleep Out event, which is where I truly connected with their mission. Their work provides a safe haven, support and guidance for youth during such critical, formative years. The impact this organization has on teens not only changes their futures but also strengthens our community."

Day 8

MISTY WEBER Human Resources Manager

“Hilliard Food Pantry Plus helps children and families in our community have access to nutritious food they need to grow and be healthy all year long. They offer a wide range of fresh produce, dairy, meat, goods, and personal care products. This has been a life saver to our community. The staff and volunteers are so kind and caring. They provide nutrition education, financial literacy, and cooking demos. It's much more than your standard food bank."

Day 9

LIVIA HILL Marketing Specialist

“Volunteering as a Young Life leader is important to me because I get to have a positive impact on the lives of high school students. The organization was impactful to me as a high school student, and because of that, I have been serving as a volunteer leader in Dublin for the last 5 years. Providing students with mentorship, fun and a safe space where they are accepted is so rewarding!"

Day 10

LINDSAY ROMANIW Senior Property Manager

“YWCA Columbus is on a mission to eliminate racism and empower women, a mission I strongly support. Their advocacy and impact in Columbus is tangible, whether it is educating women through their Leadership for Social Change program, a program I am proud graduate of, or providing temporary and permanent housing to over 100 women and 50 families through their Women's Residency Program and Family Center. This organization not only prioritizes education and awareness, but hands-on community involvement and support. I am grateful for the education and opportunities YWCA Columbus has provided me and others here at Colliers."

Day 11

CHRIS POTTS Brokerage Senior Vice President

“Unverferth House is a non-profit organization that provides free housing accommodations for heart transplant patients at the OSU Wexner Medical Center. My family has been a longtime supporter of this cause, and my wife serves on the board, actively assisting with ongoing fundraising efforts for a new facility. This expansion aims to meet the growing need for accommodations for patients and their families, who often travel from afar and require extended stays during the lengthy recovery period following heart surgery. The annual John Hicks Unlimited Love fundraiser is a fantastic event that takes place during the week of the game against TTUN. It draws over 450 attendees each year, including many historic Buckeye Legends who participate as speakers."

Day 12

PATRICK HINTZ Accounting Supervisor

“Pelotonia is meaningful to me because it represents hope, resilience and the power of community in the fight against cancer. Over the past 6 years, I have had the privilege of participating as a rider, and each year has deepened my connection to the cause and the people it supports. Through my participation, I’ve seen firsthand the incredible impact Pelotonia has on the research community and the lives it touches."
