Ceremonies take place within our homes each and every day and these are spaces which celebrate the importance of these. They may be in the form of our morning routines where we prepare for the day ahead or unwinding while cooking a meal for those we love with a favourite wine in hand. The homes of Symphony303 bring attention to these moments to make every day something special.

One of their previous projects FABRIC of ONEHUNGA consists of three four-storey apartment buildings sitting upon an old industrial site that used landscaping, shared spaces and a masterplan connected by a series of paths and courtyards to create a pocketneighbourhood only a couple of blocks from the heart of Onehunga. Another, SKHY is an urban renewal project in Uptown Auckland which resulted in the conversion of an old mall post office and commercial tower into a chic, modern destination. Parts of the concrete frame were left exposed creating a sleek industrial look and landmark architectural statement within the skyline.

Being invited to work with Lamont & Co on Symphony303 was an exciting prospect, to be able to build upon a track record of awardwinning projects that have made a positive contribution to their communities and the lives of their residents. As architects and designers we seek opportunities in every project to make spaces that contribute authentically to the essence of a place, enhance the experiences of the people that inhabit them and build upon our collective knowledge on how to design with as little impact on the environment as possible. Symphony303 had all the ingredients to produce something really special. The site lies within view of three prominent maunga; Maungawhau (Mt Eden), Te Kōpuke (Mt St John) and Maungakiekie (One Tree Hill). These maunga help define the surrounding landscape of Epsom so capturing these views from our homes was important in creating a strong sense of place and connecting residents visually and emotionally with their surrounding neighbourhood. On behalf of the design team here at Jasmax we hope you feel the collective effort and care that has gone into crafting these spaces, and we hope that you make the most of everything that this neighbourhood has to offer.
