Registration can be completed online, in-person, or over the phone. Service fees apply for online registration and are non-refundable.

Senior Center Membership

Memberships are available to those 50 and over. Memberships are required for anyone participating in any senior class, program, or activity, or for anyone using the fitness room.

Resident membership: No annual fee

Chair Pilates Plus

This class is designed to improve posture, strengthen your core, and work on muscle imbalances, spine mobility, and light strength training. The “Plus” means the exercises are geared towards functional movements for all adults 50 and up! Everyone will have a chair for standing and seated support. This class is for all fitness levels. Please bring a set of two or three pound hand weights, and wear comfortable clothes that allow for ease of movement and supportive athletic shoes.

Fit Strong for Active Seniors

This class focuses on a higher intensity for those ready to take their strength to the next level by using heavier resistance training with hand weights, tubing, and body weight exercises. We will also work on balance, range of motion, and spine mobility, all essentials to living an active, healthy lifestyle. Wendy will always teach age appropriate exercises with good form that will allow you to increase your strength in a safe manner. Students must be able to get down on the floor and back up without assistance. Please bring your own exercise mat and a water bottle to class.

FITNESS CLASSES SENIOR CENTER

Yoga Flow

Each month begins by exploring the alignment of poses, breath work, and meditation. Class begins with warm-up poses that allow you to stretch deeper and ends with cool-down poses to release muscles, allowing a deep relaxation. Each class adds poses, creating a fun flow, synchronizing with each breath. The last class of each month will feature a Yin Yoga session. No experience necessary, class is designed to provide options for all levels. No class Mar. 19.

Chair Yoga

Chair yoga is a gentle form of yoga practiced in a chair. The class begins seated and moves to standing with or without using a chair for balance. Participants may choose to stay seated the entire time. Chair Yoga helps increase strength, flexibility, balance, and mind-body awareness. Research shows benefits may include lower levels of stress, anxiety, depression, blood pressure, cholesterol, and pain. Preregistration required. No class Jan. 19.

Qigong

Qigong is a combination of two Chinese words, “Qi” (Chi) which means life force or vital energy, and “gong” which means cultivation or practice. Qigong exercise focuses on harnessing and balancing the body’s vital energy to promote health and well-being. The class will focus on repetition of simple poses and low-impact movements in a way to strengthen muscles and improve overall fitness. Stationary poses and flowing postures help increase balance, energy, and flexibility. Because it is low impact and can be done sitting or standing, Qigong is suitable for all levels. Loose fitting or comfortable clothing and a water bottle are recommended. Preregistration required.

Senior Tai Chi

Tai Chi, also known as “meditation in motion,” is identified as one of the best exercises for seniors to maintain and improve balance while also helping to increase strength, flexibility, and stamina. As a low impact exercise, Tai Chi promotes mental and physical health. Starting with a warm up of standing stretches, the class will work on a standard form of slow movements that flow together seamlessly. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a water bottle. Dropin students who are unable to attend a class during the first two weeks of a month are required to wait until the beginning of the next month to attend. No class Jan. 19.

Tai Chi 2.0

In order to sign up for this class students need to know the basic Yang style forms and have a strong background in 24-form. The 2.0 class will focus on practicing and fine-tuning the 24-form as well as learning the 32-form or Tai Chi Fang. Wear loose or comfortable clothing as work on balance, energy, and flow is integral to the lessons. As always, it is good practice to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. Spanish for Beginners

¡Bienvenidos! Step into the vibrant world of the Spanish language with our beginner Spanish class. Whether you’re planning to travel, connect with Spanish-speaking family or friends, or simply want to challenge your brain with a new skill, this friendly and supportive class is the perfect place to start. Class will focus on the basics, so no prior experience is necessary. Preregistration required.

Council Chat

Join us at our new forum, Council Chat, where you have a fantastic opportunity to meet, connect, and converse with a member of the Colleyville City Council. In the first session of Council Chat, our host will be City Council member and Deputy Mayor Pro Tem, Scotty Richardson. Come and enjoy a casual conversation accompanied by some light refreshments. American Mah Jongg for Beginners

Learn how to play American Mah Jongg as governed by the National Mah Jongg League, Inc. In addition to the basics of the game, you will also learn best practices and proper etiquette. A 2025 Mah Jongg card is required for the class and can be purchased at nationalmahjonggleague.org, but don’t forget to preorder your 2026 card! After each lesson there will be time to put your new knowledge to work and play with other beginners. To allow all who are interested in learning how to play Mah Jongg, please register for only one session. Registration opens on Dec. 29 for Colleyville residents and Jan. 5 for non-residents. Class size is limited. Preregistration required.

Sit and Stitch

Do you do needlepoint, cross stitch, ribbon embroidery, hand embroidery, beading, knitting, crochet, or anything with a needle in hand? If so, come sit and stitch each Tue. Morning with fellow needle workers. Beginner to advanced needle workers are welcome. This is not an instructional class but rather an opportunity to wield needles in the presence of others; however, there is plenty of collective advice and knowledge to be shared for anyone who may need a helping hand.

AARP Smart Driver Course

Improve driving skills and be more aware of other drivers to ensure greater safety on the road. This course may be used to qualify for insurance discounts based on your insurance carrier’s business decisions; however, it cannot be used for dismissal of a ticket. Preregistration and a current driver’s license are required. Pay fees at the time of class with cash or a check. All instructional materials and certificates of completion are provided at the end of class. Preregistration required.

Metroport Meals on Wheels

Enjoy coffee and treats in the morning. Lunch is served at noon, followed by bingo. Those 90 and over eat for free. Valentine’s Day Celebration

Help us spread the love this year at the Valentine’s Day Celebration. Canned good donations will be accepted to benefit the GRACE Food Pantry. Door prize drawings will follow an ice cream social. Each attendee will receive two tickets to be used in the door prize drawings and one additional ticket per donated canned good. Donations are not required to attend. Preregistration required.

Discover the thrill of winning and a world of luxury at WinStar World Casino and Resort. Registration opens on Dec. 29 for Colleyville residents and Jan. 5 for non-residents. Registration is limited to one trip per month. Preregistration required.

Highlights of this trip are sightseeing in Dublin, Rock of Cashel, Blarney Castle, Dingle Peninsula, Cliffs of Moher, castle hotel stay, whiskey distillery tour, and Foynes Aviation Museum.

Bureau of Engraving and Printing

BEP's Western Currency Facility produces more than half of the nation’s currency order. Visitors can see where billions of dollars are printed from an enclosed walkway, which is suspended above the production floor! The trip will include a free self-guided tour with two floors of interactive exhibits and displays showcasing currency history and the intricate art of currency manufacturing and an informative theater film. Preregistration required.
