Colleyville City Fair

Stars & Guitars

Come one, come all to the first annual Colleyville City Fair! This event will take a moment to honor those who have died protecting our nation as well as bring our community together for a family-focused, fun-filled event.

Carnival rides, games, a pie eating contest, food trucks, stilt walkers, face painters, balloon artists, awardwinning attractions, petting zoo, pony rides, and much more! The event will conclude with a spectacular fireworks show. Stay tuned for more information!

Colleyville’s annual patriotic celebration returns to Colleyville City Park for another fun year. Stars and Guitars is a free, family-friendly event with music, food, and fun for everyone.

Evolution Soccer Academy Skills Camp Join us for this week-long soccer camp for players born 2012 to 2017. Open to all players, especially those involved or interested in academy soccer. This camp will be a fun and intense introduction to Evolution Academy.

Players will work on balance and coordination, techniques for dribbling, passing, shooting and defending, with scrimmages and skills challenges, and capped off by the popular small-sided World Cup competition. There will be a separate section for 5 & Under players in the two hour mini-camp. Fire Camp Instructed by Colleyville firefighters, campers get hands-on experience practicing the skills required to be a firefighter.

Campers learn CPR, first aid, and how to use a fire extinguisher, as well as participate in fun firefighter activities like fire hose relays, using the jaws of life, and repelling. Flag Football Camp This camp is a combination of a quarterback and wide receiver skills clinic and a traditional flag football program. Players will work on drills and practice movements including passing and receiving as well as defensive coverage. Players learn plays and routes and become familiar with football formations and fundamentals. Each session will have time allotted for a scrimmage. Please bring a water bottle, snack, and sunscreen.

Junior Police Academy The Colleyville Police Department’s Junior Police Academy is a great opportunity for the youth of Colleyville to learn what it takes to be a police officer. During this one week mini academy, the students will gain knowledge of some of the functions their local law enforcement professionals perform on a daily basis. The students will learn pertinent information that can affect them in their community.

Officers of the Colleyville Police Department provide the students instruction on many different facets of the police profession including traffic stops, handling crime scenes, SWAT operations, and conducting building searches.

A written recommendation from a school official (teacher, principal, etc.) or a community leader (a coach, a pastor, etc.) and parental permission slip must be turned in to Officer Amy Beregszaszy at aberegszaszy@colleyville.com by Fri., Jun. 3 for the Jun. academy and Fri., Jul. 15 for the Jul. academy.

SUMMER CAMPS Beginner Golf Camp This camp features a fun curriculum designed for young players. Drills and stations maximize club time for each player. Chipping and driving range stations focus on fundamentals and basics while simulated holes replicate on-course situations. Striving to build confidence in the swing, players will work primarily with irons. Please bring a water bottle, snack, hat, and sunscreen. A golf glove is recommended. Clubs are provided or bring your own.

Speed Sports Camp This fast paced camp features speed games like capture the flag and agility tag. Campers will improve speed and over all conditioning while having a blast with fast paced games. All speed and agility drills are age appropriate.

Fall Volleyball League The league is designed to introduce young ladies to the game of volleyball. It was created to provide a safe, fun environment to learn the basic premises of the game through practices, teaching the fundamental volleyball skills, sport ethics, and league competition.

A team will consist of a minimum of eight players and maximum of twelve players. Teams will practice an hour each week. Players will receive a team t-shirt.

Registration can be completed online or in person. To register, the team coach must contact the Recreation Department at 817.503.1180 with their team information. At that time, the coach will be given a team code to give to their team to register.

Signing up as an individual or a free agent does not guarantee your child a spot on a team. A coach will have to volunteer in order for a team of free agents to be formed. If and when a coach volunteers, a staff member will contact individuals with team information. If you would like to coach, please call 817.503.1180 for more details.

Yoga Flow Each month begins by exploring basic alignment of selected poses, breath work, and meditation. As class progresses, new poses are added creating a flow, synchronized with your breathing. Co-ed Sand Volleyball League 4v4 This league is designed to cultivate friendly competition on a fun and safe environment. The league will have six weeks of regular games, played on Mon. evenings, followed by a single elimination tournament. Registration begins early Aug. $150 per team. Games will begin mid Sept. Free agents are welcomed but not guaranteed a spot until an existing team agrees to take on a new member or a new team can be formed. Recreation rules apply.

Pavilion Rentals

Pavilions that are available for rent are City Park, Colleyville Nature Center, Kimzey Park, McPherson Park, and Sparger Park. Rentals include picnic tables.

The Colleyville Nature Center is the only pavilion with a grill.

Yoga Flow Each month begins by exploring basic alignment of selected poses, breath work, and meditation. As class progresses, new poses are added creating a flow, synchronized with your breathing. Class begins with warm-up poses that allow you to stretch deeper and ends with cool-down poses to release muscles, allowing a deep relaxation. No experience necessary, class is designed to provide options for all levels. No class May 24.

Line Dancing Beginner class is for students with previous dance experience. Students should be capable of learning basic steps: grapevine, chasse, jazz box, etc. Routines up to 48 counts may include rhythms like Waltz or Cha Cha and tempos are slow to moderate. Improver students need previous dance experience and basic skills. Dances will introduce new step patterns: coaster step, rolling grapevines, swivets, etc. Routines up to 64 counts may include various tempos and rhythms and feature pauses, syncopation, timing variations, etc.
