What does the Annual Fund support?

Among other important School priorities, the Annual Fund supports:

Attract, hire and retain the very best teachers, coaches and mentors, and provide important professional development, allowing teachers to grow in their profession and bring that enrichment back to the classroom.

Provide students the breadth of academic, athletic and arts opportunities available today.

Over the past year, more than 200 Collegiate faculty members across the Lower, Middle and Upper School have attended multiple conferences and workshops across the country and around the globe, including: • Virginia Children’s Engineering Convention in Roanoke, Virginia • Southern Association of Independent Schools Academic Services Conference in Nashville, Tennessee • National Association of Art Educators in Boston, Massachusetts • National Council for Teachers of Math Conference in Nashville, Tennessee • Association of Independent School Librarians in Boston, Massachusetts • Global Educators Conference in Atlanta, Georgia

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE Ensure that a wide range of talented students from diverse backgrounds have the opportunity for an independent school education.

Collegiate will award up to $4.1 million in financial assistance for the 2019-20 academic year, with about 17 percent of Collegiate students receiving some level of financial assistance.

Collegiate’s STEAM initiative, launched in 2015 during the School’s Centennial year, began with the reboot of the Upper School robotics team, Torch 5804. The commitment to STEAM has since expanded to include robotics teams in the Middle and Lower Schools, impacting more than 100 students every year.

A collaboration between Upper School science students and those in the robotics program resulted in the design of an experimental payload that launched into space aboard a Blue Origin rocket. Six months later, several Upper School students involved in the project presented their research at the national annual conference of the American Society for Gravitational and Space Research.

WHO PARTICIPATES IN THE ANNUAL FUND? The entire Collegiate community is encouraged to come together each year and participate in the Collegiate Annual Fund to contribute to the School and to help make a difference.

How much should I contribute to the Annual Fund?

All gifts are greatly appreciated and collectively make a tremendous impact. Gifts to the Annual Fund range from $25 to $50,000. We ask all our families to make a meaningful contribution to the Annual Fund.

Foundations, leadership donors, volunteers, prospective families, teachers and administrators take notice of participation from all constituents in Collegiate’s Annual Fund and view our rate of giving as a sign of how invested the Collegiate community is in our School. Every student is directly impacted by the Annual Fund and Collegiate asks that each family make a gift every year.
