Collegiate School is proud to offer its community a one-of-a-kind dining experience with meal plan options that rival those of most colleges. With our state-of-the-art dining facilities, Centennial and McFall halls, our students can select a meal plan, including a daily option, that best meets their needs. When considering which meal plan to select, we thought it would be helpful to provide answers to your most frequently asked questions.

Q

Who provides Collegiate’s food service?

Aladdin at Collegiate is our food service partner. Aladdin is part of Elior North America, one of the top contract food service companies in the United States. Aladdin provides food service to colleges, hospitals and many other private schools, including Cape Henry Collegiate right here in Virginia.

Q

What is Aladdin’s philosophy toward food preparation?

Aladdin strives to be the premier food and service management company recognized for providing an exceptional customer experience through great food, great service, great value and great people.

Q

What if my student has food allergies?

Aladdin and a Registered Dietician (R.D.) will work with parents, school nurses, teachers and health care providers to help manage students’ food allergies and special diets. While we strive to label foods and know the ingredients included in the foods we serve, we cannot guarantee that any one product is free of a certain allergen. However, we can decrease risk by: Working with physicians or qualified nutritional specialists to manage dietary substitutions. Reviewing menus with parents of students who have food allergies to determine what, if any, menu items need to be substituted. Knowing where emergency medications are stored and knowing how they should be administered if a student has an allergic reaction. Please feel free to read the School’s Food Allergy Management Guidelines, which can be found by logging into the PawNet on Collegiate’s website and clicking on the Health and Counseling Resource Board.

Q

What are the School’s meal plan options?

Collegiate offers its students a number of all-you-can-eat meal plans. In the Lower School, we offer daily, three-day and five-day options. In the Middle School, we offer daily and five-day options. For the Upper School, we offer daily, five-day and five-day PLUS options. All meal plans are for one specific lunch period only, except for the PLUS plan.

Q

What is the five-day PLUS option in the Upper School?

The five-day PLUS lunch plan is for students who would like to be able to eat during multiple lunch periods. If your child is not on the PLUS plan and chooses to eat during multiple lunch periods whether on the five-day meal plan or not, your account will be billed the daily rate for each additional lunch period.

It also means parents don’t have to make lunch every day!
