The 2024 Business License renewal season is underway. All businesses located within the City of College Park had until March 31, 2024, to renew with no penalties or interest fees. All approved businesses in the state of Georgia that have alcohol licenses must have a City of College Park alcohol license before selling alcohol within the city. Our team will work with Code Enforcement to issue any citations for those who are not in compliance with the ordinance. We started July 1, 2024 implementing penalties/interest fees.

College Park Power has once again lowered the residential rate and senior rate starting with July 2024 billing. The average decrease is 6% year-round.
In July 2023, a rate reduction average of 7.7% was implemented but just for the summer rates that cover billing from May to October each year.
The combination of both rate reductions has placed College Park Power below average on the Georgia Public Service Commission residential rate survey for both winter and summer.
The rate calculation includes base charges, energy charges, power cost adjustments, and a franchise fee.
The senior rate, for those at age 65 or older, was adjusted to maintain the $10 and 10% discount.
At 1000 KWH, here is a comparison, including the most recent summer survey:
Summer 2024
College Park Power $129
Average $141 Percent below Average 8%
Georgia Power $182 Percent below Georgia Power 29%
Winter 2024
College Park Power $119
Average $135 Percent below Average 12%
Georgia Power $144
Percent below Georgia Power 17%

It’s heartening to see both the governing body and citizens equally dedicated to enhancing the city’s aesthetics. Meeting some of the objectives required a thorough approach including vetting vendors, negotiating costs, and overseeing services such as tree removal, clearing of overgrown vegetation from retention ponds, and strategically placing signage for Subrenia Miller Willis Park. The transformation from “before” to “after” is remarkable and can be viewed in the below pictures.
