NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENTS IN DESIGN Regents Give Green Light to Two New Graduate Degrees
At its Aug. 3 meeting in Cedar Falls, the Iowa Board of Regents approved two new graduate degrees in the ISU College of Design: the Master of Urban Design (MUD) and the Master of Design (MDes) in Sustainable Environments. Art Professor Helps Mississippi Delta Students ‘Put Community Back in the Blues’ Jennifer Drinkwater, lecturer in integrated studio arts, recently completed a six-week mural camp for middle-schoolers in Clarksdale, Miss. She received a grant from actor Morgan Freeman’s Rock River Foundation, a grant-matching organization that supports education and the arts, to work with local youth on the Clarksdale Revitalization Inc. Mural Project. She and students designed and painted two murals on the sides of the Ground Zero Blues Club, which Freeman co-owns. [Read more]
