This half term has been one of difference and change, and I would like to commend our young people who have returned to school and formal education in the most mature and resilient manner. They have embraced their learning, and our new routines, such as lining up and then, just this week, mask wearing, without fuss, showing that learning and valuing education is of more importance to them. Well done everyone. With the new reward system in place 5 students have already achieved their bronze award – a fantastic achievement in such a short pace of time. Their certificates and badges are being awarded this week, of which they should be very proud. This coupled with the two ‘Flash Rewards’ this half term has meant that there has been a lot to celebrate. Science teacher and Year Leader Mr St Clare completed the ‘London Marathon’ just two weeks ago, but instead of running around the bright lights of the capital, had much more local scenery instead. To support his charity, NHS Crohns and Colitis UK, students within PE lessons have also been completing mini marathons, running 2.6 miles, a fantastic achievement and thank you to everyone who has sponsored them and donated to this worthy cause. Half term is an opportunity to rest and recharge and I would like to thank you all for your support and kind words this term. It is so lovely to receive so many positive emails.

I’m a newly qualified History teacher, as well a Year 7 Form Tutor, and I joined the Academy at the start of term. have a passion for learning about the newly discovered I enjoy learning about history and parts of our history within the world today. I love sport and enjoy going to the gym regularly. I have competed at national and international lever for British Swimming, the former for 15 years, and still very much enjoy the competitive side of swimming. I would train 12 times a week whilst also studying for my GCSEs, A Levels and my PE degree at University of East Anglia in Norwich. My favourite swimming stroke is butterfly and I enjoy the 50m and 100m events.
